Whilst bringing up my 2 sons in the early 70s I organised (on a voluntary basis) playgroups, playschemes and ladies clubs in my local environment. Then on my return to 'paid work' I moved through secretarial and book-keeping work and eventually found myself working with people who were stressed. It was then that I realised I had a knack of helping people 'wind down' and through talking with them helped them to 'move forwards'.
In the early 90s an opportunity opened up where I could go self employed and I took it and moved into the 'stress management' and 'hypnotherapy' field and over the next few years I qualifies in over a dozen therapies and techniques - each of which could help individuals 'wind down'.
Since 1999, when I discovered about EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), I have been concentrating more and more using EFT and progressing then onto using Meridian & Energy Therapies - which cover such a lot lot more - both in 1:1 client sessions and small group trainings at practitioner level. I also enjoy giving self discovery workshops - 'helping people discover themselves'.
In 2007 I won a HELLO TOMORROW FUND award for my project 'Caring-4-Carers' - which is to teach 9 women carers in Northamptonshire 3 stress management techniques plus presentation and communicaiton skills so that they can 'cascade' these 3 techniques to many other carers who live in Northamptonshire. Therefore I am 'Helping Them Help Themselves Help Others'.
